Aquamarine 03:41
Your eyes are flames of condescension Your mouth is as peach as a nectarine Your heart it beats in all the wrong colours Your blood is aquamarine If you need to breathe, then breathe If you need to cry, then cry If you’re gonna live, then live! If you’re gonna die, then die Who’s gonna save your life When you haven’t been warm in years If you would crack a smile You would know how happy feels, how happy feels You are mind-numbingly rude Hell bent on enjoying nothing and no one But the antagonist will live in agony Why should I let that bother me? I guess there are lots of questions begging to be answered, aren’t there? But you’re quite the gem of a human a fine specimen any scientist would likely admire, minus the blue And not so deep inside your soul lies a tear, a rip, a gaping hole that wreaks a pungent fragrance somewhere between milk, myrrh, and mildew If you need to breathe, then breathe If you need to cry, then cry If you’re gonna live, then live! If you’re gonna die, then die Who’s gonna save your life When you haven’t been warm in years If you would crack a smile You would know how happy feels, how happy feels You are aquamarine You are aquamarine You are aquamarine You would know how happy feels, how happy feels.

Cold 04:13
When it’s cold outside and I light a cigarette I pine for the springtime When it’s cold outside And my little nose turns red I pine for the springtime I pine When its cold outside All I taste is frost, all I smell is you I pine for our springtime I pine I never agreed to leave spring I never agreed to freeze And I thought nothing and no one could harm me But its been so cold outside

Silhouette 02:02
Here I am on the bed, Watch you stare out the window What do you see on the earth below? Dark as night, dark as pitch Your deepest thoughts I'll never know Your silhouette is an angel glow Look you're glowing! Look you're glowing! Here I am on the bed, Watch you stare out the window What do you see on the earth below? Dark as night, dark as pitch Your deepest thoughts I'll never know Your silhouette is an angel glow

Advocate 03:46
Advocate Now and then I remember you The way you robe my heart in gladness You melt away the sadness Fleck of snow, palm of hand You were my advocate, my advocate Now and then we share a glance You have known me on the inside Seen me on the outside Too ashamed to tell the truth But you were my advocate, my advocate Before Judge and Jury I know you had my back and one day you'll forget all about me And I'm not so secretly alright with that But until then here's to you the one I loved: My advocate, my advocate

about

Recorded over the course of three live sessions at Edinburgh’s Napier University, Prose features songs from the heart. Arsenia features on acoustic guitar and piano displaying a vast range of emotions in this dynamic performance. Fiona Reid and Liselot Van Oosterom contribute their sturdy yet haunting vocals most prominently on ‘Silhouette’ and ‘Advocate’. On cajon, or box drum, and other miscellaneous percussion is Mark Smith, and on cello and head engineer is Graham Coe of The Jellyman’s Daughter. Arsenia considers this work his best yet.

about

Calvin Arsenia Kansas City, Kansas

A mix of the bizarre and experimental musings of Jonsi with the swooping, hearty melodies of Amos Lee and the raw acoustic emotion of Damien Rice will form a gentle, heartfelt style that defines the music of Calvin Arsenia. Standing at 6 foot 5 inches, Arsenia strikes a commanding presence complimented by his equally powerful vocal capacity. ... more
